‘Cajon’ is a single user interactive musical installation that enables its user to become composer, performer and audience - within an immersive space designed to provide comfort and safety in order to physically trigger music and encourage improvisation.
After studying animation, running a business called eirheads and five years of bespoke high-society wedding planning, Eileen Carpio decided to try her hand at music. Two years later she has emerged from Trinity with a head bulging-full of ideas and a mind that is technologically saturated. She is interested in creating work that is playful and thought-provoking; work that can benefit from the varied skills she has aquired and the ecclectic individuals she has met along the way. Every aspect of her life informs her work, no detail goes unnoticed and human-centred design is at the core of it all.
I intend to pursue universal design methodology to conceive and build innovative functional therapeutic devices to support arts therapy practice.
