‘Iluzja’ is a novel approach to audio-visual art. It combines Wave Field Synthesis, which enables a faithful recreation of acoustic field in a room, and 3-D visualisations based on head-tracking technology. It is an installation designed for a single user where displayed visualisations are projected according to the user’s position in relation to the screen; sounds that are heard by the user correspond to their movements and stay well localised within the listening area.

I was born in 1984 in Lublin, Poland where I learned to walk, speak, read and write. I spent 14 years playing classical grand piano in the local music school and in my spare time I was supporting several rock bands playing keys. I also started to write and record music. After 3 years of studying Audio Engineering I recorded my final project and did my degree. In the meantime I did another degree in Hearing Health Care and Noise Control. Finally, I decided to do my Masters in Music and Media Technologies in the Trinity College Dublin to broaden my knowledge about technology, learn something about CG and, most of all, to stay creative.
Generally speaking my research interests are 3-D sound and 3-D vision. Having a background in audio engineering I am trying to broaden my knowledge and learn more about multichannel audio technologies but also Computer Graphics, especially related to 3-D and animation. Recently I also spend my time reading and trying my skills in interactivity and programming.
